Trends in graphics and pattern always intrigue me as they always seem to make quite a statement. You can't pretend tartans or florals are subtle or that they're worn to help you blend into the background. I'm also a great lover of monochromes AND the film Beetlejuice so was naturally very excited when I first noticed a few black and white stripy pieces popping up online and in stores.
There's something very Tim Burtonesque modern-gothic about it all, and I like that. A lot a lot.
Take a gander and be inspired.
Had to throw some Jeffrey's in there. Obvs.

TRENDLOVE: Pale and Interesting.
I always get excited when Spring's getting closer to coming around. I am definitely a giant fan of black, and so very much enjoy the dark tones of winter dressing, as well as the fun of monochromes. But anyone who knows me well will know I also have rather a penchant for cheeky pastels. I loves me a bit of "dodgy" mint green, absolutely love pastelly lilacs, and even rather enjoy a pale blue, pink or even yellow in the Spring. I think this may be when my girliest style comes out, so imagine my excitement when i saw these spreads in Vogue's February 2012 edition this month and their Spring/Summer 2012 Collections Edit. Oh the joy!
I think it just makes a nice fresh change from the winter colour hibernation i suppose. This Spring i think i'm going to go for a more sports inspired, minimal pastel look. A little less pretty ditsy florals and a little more casually tailored luxe. I can match it to my (imaginary) pastel hair.
I know its only January and here in England we have pretty much another 3 months of darkness before even the first inclinations of sunshine, but there's no harm in planning, eh.

TRENDLOVE: Jewels.
I love jewellery. Especially rings and necklaces. On my travels around the world I have collected many different rings and jewels which live on my hands pretty much always. Just as on my travels around the blogosphere I have collected many an inspirational image of beautiful jewellery and enviable attitudes.

I love the whole everything thrown on together look, but i also love a carefully selected statement piece that stands out on its own. I think both can be equally impactful in the right situations and with the right outfit. I particularly like the mixing of all the metal tones in some of these pictures, gold, silver and bronze all sat next to each other. I think this is something I should try out more instead of sticking to strict colour coordinations and matching styles when selecting my jewellery.

TRENDLOVE: Pastel Hair.
If i had fair hair i would do this in a heartbeat. But the luck of the draw is that instead i have very fair skin, and not hair, so bleaching in any way to attain this look would in all likelihood result in me looking like an albino. So alas, i must resist. *Sigh*.

NAILLOVE: 101 Dalmatians.
So Dalmatian has well and truly arrived. I've been very much enjoying the exoticism that the current Leopard and Python trends have brought us in these dark and dreary winter times, but I think I am even more excited for Dalmatian. Its something new, something different.
Topshop have well and truly embraced this trend, as we guessed they would from their Topshop Unique AW11 collection at LFW:

And of course... the nail equivalent! This is the real reason I first became interested in the Dalmatian print - they make for some truly awesome nails. Check it:
